Cryptocurrency exchange Zondacrypto has added to its venue naming-rights portfolio after striking a deal with Polish football club Raków Częstochowa.
Raków is currently second in the top-tier Ekstraklasa and the club has been sponsored by Zondacrypto for the past two years. As part of the new deal, the club’s home stadium will be rebranded as the Zondacrypto Arena.
The Miejski Stadion Piłkarski Raków has a capacity of 5,500, making it the smallest in the Ekstraklasa. The stadium will take on Zondacrypto’s branding for the next three years.
Earlier this year, Zondacrypto acquired naming rights to the home arena of Swiss ice hockey club HC Davos. The deal rebranded the Eisstadion as the Zondacrypto Arena.
Zondacrypto was founded in Poland in 2014 and also has sponsorship deals with Juventus and AS Monaco, as well as the Giro d’Italia cycling event.
Raków’s new deal with Zondacrypto includes a number of promotional and technological activities aimed at further strengthening the cooperation between the two parties. Zondacrypto branding will also appear on the club’s shirts.
Raków president Piotr Obidziński said: “Our cooperation with Zondacrypto to date has been extremely successful. Together with our strategic sponsor, we have implemented many innovative initiatives, including the first cryptocurrency transfer in Poland.
“The expansion of the partnership to title sponsorship of the stadium is a large and significant step in the development of the club. It demonstrates the potential of Raków, which is step by step achieving successive goals towards getting closer to the most prosperous sports organisations in Europe.”
In September, the City of Częstochowa identified a site that could house a new 15,000-capacity stadium for Raków.
